Everyone of us like to play safe. Unknowingly this happens. Though some of us talk about this and make explicit remarks saying "i want to come out of comfort zone". But, how many were really successful. Think about it.
So, can we ignore it saying i am part of 1 in many or should try to stand out and say "I am different".
This habit is something that comes along from our childhood with influences from our home/school etc., There are many articles on this subject that goes around the web, some try to follow and some try and fail and some just skip and proceed.
It is said that anything you do continuously for 20 days or so will automatically becomes routine and unknowingly it becomes our habit. This is true but making ourselves that stretch of practicing is a Herculean task.
Believe me, if you have that idea of coming out of comfort zone. Then carve out a plan, start telling yourself frequently that you want to change. Multiple reiteration can only make it possible. First believe yourselves and start taking baby steps towards your goal. You may fail at the beginning, we are lazy and used to take excuses. So, worry not, try again and again, within 2 or 3 attempts, you should be able to make things possible.
So, keep trying, keep telling yourself and start attempting. Let us start taking that first step to come out of our comfort zone.
